Jordan Brand x Paris Saint-Germain Unveil 2020-21 Fourth Kit

A few months after unveiling the Paris Saint-Germain’s 2020-21 third kit, Jordan Brand and Paris Saint-Germain introduce a forth kit punctuated by a unique pattern of Hyper Pink, Psychic Purple and black, nodding to the famous elephant print created for the Air Jordan III. The jersey incorporates the Jordan Point of View (POV) neckline, which combines V-neck and crew neck into one. This neckline brings to life new design lines and mimics the broken side seam on the jersey and the iconic Jordan diamond short. The full performance collection, including the pre-match top, short, sock, drill top and drill pant, features a new “PARIS” repeating graphic inspired by type from space shuttles. In addition, the Paris Saint-Germain 2020-21 fourth kit collection includes a complete range of training and lifestyle products for kids, women and men, including an Air Jordan 1 Zoom. The full collection, excluding the AJ1, are available now for Nike Members and at psg.fr. The Air Jordan 1 Zoom will...

AMBUSH® Takes on Basketball Culture

Image
As the first female designer to partner with Nike and the National Basketball Association (NBA), YOON delivers an energetic attitude, signature AMBUSH® detailing and fresh styling to female hoops fans. “The project began with a conversation about making women feel proud to represent their favorite teams,” says YOON. “We were considering how to balance the culture of the sport without losing style.”  Drawing on her multidimensional, multidisciplinary point of view, YOON reimagined Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets apparel. “I thought of all these amazing and strong female characters from the ’90s who would come out in men’s clothes, and I wanted to see how we could carry that attitude, but bring in more feminine forms,” she says. Specifically, YOON transforms the archetypal tearaway basketball warm-up pant into a seasonally-appropriate, insulated trouser complete with a playful, contrast-color double waist band. The look approximates the peeking out of game short under war...

Jordan Brand’s New Women's Collection Offers Bold Prints and Sumptuous Fabrics

Image
Jordan Brand’s Court to Runway Holiday 2020 Apparel Collection reinterprets authentic sports with luxe fabrics and utility-focused details. Bold animal prints, sumptuous fabrics and rich colors elevate the assortment, and each piece is designed with the intent to layer during the cooler months. Continuing to reiterate an everyday streetwear essential, the collection is led by the Jordan Brand Faux Leather Flight Suit — a one-piece made with heavyweight materials that has an allover embossed pattern and metallic details. Staple (and statement) pieces like the Jordan Brand Faux Fur Jacket are intended to complement a street-ready look and serve up a 2-in-1 convertible design, allowing for transformation from long to cropped jacket with one quick zip.  The Jordan Brand Women’s Court to Runway Holiday 2020 Apparel Collection releases November 26 in North America and globally this winter.

Naomi Osaka’s Apparel Collection Features Her New Logo

Image
\  If design is a kind of visual listening, then creating signature apparel for athletes means listening to their values and origins, and illustrating an identity. In Naomi Osaka’s new apparel capsule, which presents her new logo on select pieces for the first time, the spirits of her three continental backgrounds are combined for a look that embodies the full meaning of a signature line. The collection includes a range of casual, style-led pieces — polos, T-shirts, sweatshirts, sport tops, shorts — and accessories like fanny packs. Osaka’s logo is on each piece. The mark is influenced by the national flag of Japan, and its simplicity is graphically flexible, befitting her multicultural background. The long-sleeve shirt shows off the capsule’s key design tribute: a camo print inspired by the coordinates of Japan, Haiti and the United States. The digits from each nation were fed through a digital algorithm to create the unique pattern. The collection releases November 16 throughout ...
