Safari Print Returns to the Pitch
May 15, 2020 - The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Safari celebrates the 10th anniversary of Cristiano Ronaldo’s first Player Edition boot, the Safari Print Mercurial Vapor Superfly II. Safari print, introduced on the 1987 Air Safari designed by Tinker Hatfield, debuted on performance football footwear with Ronaldo’s boot in November 2010. The look quickly became an on-pitch classic — its design employed in a unique way and overlaid with a tonal reflective and non-reflective chevron pattern that illuminated in certain light. The Nike Mercurial Superfly CR7 Safari mirrors the Safari Print Mercurial Vapor Superfly II, but the new edition also incorporates CR7’s famous celebration stance, signature and logo on the sockliner. A special pigment on the Elite style distinctively highlights the chevron pattern of the Mercurial Superfly.
